Autumnal Equinox – The doorway into Fall

Hi Friends,

Tomorrow, September 22nd, is the Autumnal Equinox, and with it we enter a brief window of balance—a moment when day equals night and night equals day.

Since our earliest days, humans have stood in reverence of this particular moment in time. Across cultures, the equinox has been seen as powerful, auspicious, even magical—a time marked by feasts, celebrations, gatherings, and rituals. A moment to honor balance, generosity, abundance, and the arrival of fall.

It is also a threshold.

Once again, we pass through the doorway into the darker, quieter half of the year.

And here we are, too, entering the final chapter of 2026. This is the season when we begin to see what has grown from the seeds we planted during those long, dreamy winter nights. With only three months left in the year, fall offers us an opportunity to look back at the last nine months—our intentions, our word of the year, our goals, wishes, dreams—and notice what has taken root.

What grew? What surprised you? What needs tending? What are you ready to let go of?

There is still time to make adjustments to whatever you set sail to discover or cultivate this year. So let this be your invitation to revisit those intentions and refine them as needed.

And please, celebrate too. Celebration is a must, because you have come far, my darling.

Today, tomorrow, this week—spend a little time with yourself. Notice who you have become and who you’d still like to become. Gather with friends or family. Share a meal. Talk about what you’ve accomplished and what you’re still processing. Get outside and touch the ground. Explore the balance of your own light and darkness.

Create a seasonal altar filled with gourds, pumpkins, pinecones, leaves, and all things autumnal. Do a little housekeeping and clear away whatever feels sticky or stagnant from late summer, making room for something new to enter.

However you choose to mark this threshold, may you give yourself a moment to honor where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re still going.

Happy Equinox, friends.

Move With Love.

Big Hugs,
Holly
